Yeah the bible is so essential in our christian walk it really does a lot of great things.

1.Keeps us away from sin, I heard a preacher once say "The bible is a cake of soap, most people don't think of it that way but the more you use it the cleaner you get" Not only that the more time we spend in the word the more repulsive sin becomes to us. A grandfather wrote in his grandsons bible "Either this book will keep you from sin or sin will keep you from this book"

2.Reveals god will for us, it really is gods word and he talks to us through it. You may think it is just stories and poems and words, but god uses it to speak to our hearts and tell us the things he wants of us. It may not be something specific like "Go tell Jake Fox that he is quite large" but then again it could be very specific. I know a lot of people that are frustrated because they don't feel god's will for them when they are barely reading the bible more than half an hour a day.

3.It is the living word of god, the more time we spend in it it will change the attitudes and desires of our hearts to become more like God's. It will slowly change us and make us more confidant to do god's will. As well as talk to other christians with the authority of the bible. I have met few people who could talk in a way that I know that everything they say is backed up by the bible. It really changes me every encounter I have with them.

So yeah as I was writing this I had to think to myself "Man, David why aren't you reading the bible enough?" Last year I had really good habits of reading the bible but now I really have no excuse as to why I don't read it much anymore.

hey well the Bible means soo much to me because it has helped me through so much! i definately need it at this very time in my life because of all the peer preassure and stress teens face today. It has let me know that i can go through these everyday problems like nothin cause God is there for me forever and always. No matter how many boys break my heart or how many friends i lose that Gods there and he has somebody out there just for me. So like i learned from the Bible the key is patience! and i will never forget it!!! i hope u dont either! ;D

Yes i definately have felt like that and i totally know what you mean. It's cool to see new people checkin out the site! Sometimes i thank God so much for giving me that guilty conscious when i haven't spent time with him, because with out it i would be doing my own thing that would not be pleasing to God
